    October 25, 1954, first came to the Saratov aeroclub of DOSAAF. In total, Yuri Gagarin performed 196 flights and flew 42 hours 23 minutes in the flying club.

    April 12, 1961 man made the first ever flight into space.

    Gagarin landed near the village of Smelovka, search services found him only 1 hour later.
    Gagarin was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union and pilot-cosmonaut of the USSR.

    Yuri Gagarin passed away early, at the age of 34. On March 27, 1968 Gagarin died in a plane crash, performing a training flight on the MiG-15UTI under the guidance of an experienced instructor Vs Seregin, near the village Novoselovo Kirzhach district of the Vladimir region. The bodies of Gagarin and Seryogin were cremated. Farewell to Gagarin and Seregin took place on March 30, 1968.
