The First Fleet
The first fleet was a group of eleven ships that left Great Britain on the 13th of May 1787. The first fleet consisted of two royal navy vessels, three store ships and six convict transports ships. The 1813 crossing of the Blue Mountains was an expedition led by Gregory Blaxland, William Lawson and William Charles Wentworth. It was the first successful crossing by European settlers in New South Wales. By successfully crossing the Blue Mountains it enabled the settlers to use the land on the west of the mountains for farming. The battle of Gaza was the attempt of the (EES) to invade the south of Palestine in the Ottoman Empire during the sinai and Palestine campaign in the First World War.
