At a remote test site in Kazakhstan USSR built a civilization-like archriteural place to test the atomic bomb. They also added in animals nearby in cages to see what would happen. After the bomb went off, the fake town exploded and the nuclear radiation from the bomb soon killed all the animals as well. -

This was a meeting with US, France, Britain< and German leaders. The official end of the Cold War. No aggreements were made here, but it is said to havbe eased the post-Cold War tensions. -
Hungarian Uprising
This began when the working class took over, defeating the police and installing a new government. Their revolution lasted for only 18 days before the Soviet tanks crushed them. -

Isreal pushed into Egypt initating the Suez Crisis. Soon they were joined by the Fremch and British which brought the Soviet in and ended up damaging relations with the US. All troops withdrew soon in late 1956 and early 1957. -

First artificial sattelite launched by the Soviet. US didnt like this because it showed that the Soviet had better technology that the US. Soon after, the Soviet gained uper hand in the arms race. -
US U-2 Plane Shot Down
Us had a spy plane that was conducted over the Soviet Union. The soviet shot it down to protect themselves from an uinfamiliar aircraft. The incident called for an important meeting with US president and Soviet leader later that month.
