  • Reign of Alfonso XIII

    During his reign Spain experienced four problems of supreme importance that would finish with the Liberal Monarchy: the lack of a real political representation of wide social groups, the terrible situation of the popular classes, especially the peasants, the problems derived from the war of the Rif and the Catalan nationalism.
  • II Republic

    It was a democratic political regime which existed from 1931 (as substitution of Alfonso XIII monarchy) to 1939 (end of the Spanish Civil War).
  • Spanish Civil War

    The Spanish Civil War faced the Republican side and the National side led by General Francisco Franco.
    This war reached a wide international repercussion.
    The warlike conflict was sentenced with the defeat of the Republic side on April 1, 1939.
  • Dictatorship of the general Francisco Franco

    It was the First stage of the Franco's regime that corresponds with the Second World war.
  • Spanish transition

    The Spanish transition is the period in which there was carried out the process for which the country left behind the dictatorial regime of the general Francisco Franco and happened to be ruled by a Constitution that was restoring the democratic Spain.
