  • Adolf Hitler Becomes chancellor of Germany

    Many people started believing that the Nazis would stop the Communist. On January 1933 President Paul Von Hindenburg presents Adolf Hitler as the Fuhrer of the Nazi Party. Many believed he’d be a strong leader.

  • Anti-Comintern Pact

    The Anti-Comintern Pact was an agreement between Germany, Japan-and later on, Italy. It was to act against the Comintern (communist organization by the Soviet Union). When Italy joined in this becomes the Axis Powers.
  • Germany Invades Poland

    Germany’s invasion of Poland was considered to be the beginning of World War II in Europe. Adolf Hitler claimed that this invasion was to protect them.
  • Rome Berlin Axis Treaty

    The Rome Berlin Axis Treaty was an alliance of Italy and Germany declared by Mussolini.The two countries agreed (informally) that they’d stand together through war.
  • Germany takes France

    In September of 1939 Hitler made offers of peace to the government in France and Great Britain which took them long to reply, which was an event that led up to this invasion. Battle of France/Fall of France, was when Germany defeated France and the Low Countries
  • Italy Joins War

    Italy joined the Axis powers because the attack of France became obvious. After France is defeated Hitler wanted Nazis Germany to invade the Soviet Union.
  • Germany attacks Russia

    The attack of Russia was the largest military operation, codenamed Operation "Barbarossa. This was when Germany (Nazi Germany) attacked the Soviet Union because Hitler wanted to have their territories.
  • Pearl Harbor

    The attack of Pearl Harbor happened on December 7, 1941 by the Japanese. The Japanese and U.S. were unhappy with each other during this time because of how Japan treated China so they could have more land, sources,power, etc. and because the U.S. stopped dealing with them. Because of their commotion, Japan bombed Pearl Harbor leading the U.S. to join the war.
  • Battle of Midway

    This battle happened because Japan wanted to destroy the escaped, from Pearl Harbor, American aircraft carriers. American planes defeated Japan and their plan while they were heading to invade Midway Islands.
  • Italian Surrender

    Gen. Pietro Badoglio took Mussolini's place as leader and negotiated with Gen. Eisenhower, which led to the Italian surrender. This surrender allowed the Allies to fight Germany, called Operation Avalanche.
  • D-Day

    D-Day was the day the Allies invaded the north of France. They did this because they wanted to free Western Europe from the Nazis power.
  • Battle Of The Bulge

    This battle was the last major offensive battle between the Nazis and the Allied Powers. It happened because Hitler thought that the Allies could be destroyed because they weren't strong enough.
  • Germany Surrenders

    Hitler saw that Berlin’s defeation was about to happen, which is a reason to why he committed suicide. On May 7, 1945 Karl Dönitz carried out the Nazis to surrender.
  • Hiroshima & Nagasaki

    Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the two Japan cities bombed by an atomic bomb by the Allied Powers. The bombings were a trigger of the Japanese surrender.
  • Japan Surrenders

    Japan’s surrendering signed documents brings the end of all hostiles of WWII. After many fatal and disastrous events Emperor Hirohito decided to accept the surrender of Japan.
