Cuban Missle Crisis
A product of the Cold War, the Cuban Missile Crisis entailed the USSR settling nuclear weapons in Cuba, and resulted in a pact between the US and the USSR in which the US would exit their nuclear weapons from Turkey and the USSR would do the same from Cuba. -
Gorbachev
Gorbachev was the last leader of the Soviet Union before its 1991 fall, encouraging the end of the Cold War and attempting to hold the USSR together with new economic policies. His resignation was coupled with a statement of the end of the USSR. -
