The US made atomic bombs using Einsteins theory that splitting an Atom will have a really powerful chain reaction. The US rationalized using the atomic bombs by saying that if they hadn't used them, the Japanese would have killed thousands of Americans. The decision was made by Henry Truman, the bombings made the emperor surrender.
