Hitler was in dictatorship of Germany by this time. His big plan was to take over all of Europe and he knew the first step would be to annex Poland. He knew it would take a while for other countries to intervein and because Poland wasn't strong he got away with it. WW2 begins now. -

Attack on the Polish. Translate to "lighting war' in German which forshadows a bit, considering Germany completely took over Poland with ease. Poland just wasn't as strong and powerful as Germany was. -

High-ranking Nazi Party and German government officials gathered at a villa in the Berlin suburb of Wannsee to discuss and coordinate the implementation of what they called the "Final Solution of the Jewish Question." -
Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
ended september 12th. The German authorities deported or murdered around 300,000 Jews in the Warsaw ghetto. -

British bombers raid Hamburg, Germany, by night in Operation Gomorrah, while Americans bomb it by day in its own “Blitz Week.” -
Battle of Stalingrad
ended feburary the 2nd. Successful Soviet defense of the city of Stalingrad. It stopped the German advance into the Soviet Union and marked the turning of the tide of war in favor of the Allies. -

Japanese planned to destroy US Fleet.To accomplish this he planned an invasion of Midway Island which would provide a base for attacking Hawaii. -

The Kasserine Pass was the site of the United States’ first major battle defeat of the war.The Americans withdrew from their position, leaving behind most of their equipment. They were beat. -
Liberation of Concentration Camps.
Soviets overran the sites of the Belzec, Sobibor, and Treblinka killing centers. The Germans had dismantled these camps in 1943, after most of the Jews of Poland had already been killed. -
D-Day
This is the day the Allied powers crossed the English Channel and landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, beginning the liberation of Western Europe from Nazi control during WW2. This same day invaded countries under Hitlers power were freed. -

Ended the 26th of march. The Battle of Iwo Jima was fought between the United States and Japan. The battle took place in the Pacific Campaign of WW2 and finished with the US being victorious and gaining control of both the island and the Japanese airfields located at that location. -

ended June 22nd. "bloodiest battle of the Pacific War." German resistance in the European Campaign was on the verge of collapse, but the Empire of Japan continued to defiantly resist American advances across the Pacific -

Public Holiday that celebrated the surrender of the nazi party of its armed forces. This is thought of as the end of the WW2. -
Dropping off the Atomic Bomb
The city of Hiroshima was atomic bombed where 70,000 Japans were immediatley killed. -
VJ Day
The final ending of WWII!!! A formal surrender ceremony was held in Tokyo Bay to establish the end of WWII!!
