Annexation of Sudetenland
The German occupation of Czechoslovakia started with the annexation of Sudetenland. Hitler's excuse for occupying the Sudetenland is because of ethnic Germans living in the region, he wanted the German race to be unified. The British allowed Hitler to do this because the allies wanted to prevent conflict. -

The battle of Midway was a turning point for the allies in the Pacific theater. It was the beginning of an allied offensive against Japan and the Axis powers. -

The battle of Guadalcanal was fought in the pacific theater against the Japanese. It took place between Aug 7, 1942 and Feb 9, 1943. The result was an allied victory and it was the start of the allied counter-offensive. -
Battle of Stalingrad
The battle of Stalingrad was fought over many months. Germany was invading the USSR and fought over the control of Stalingrad. Casualties almost reached 2 million. The battle lasted from August 8, 1942 to Feb 2, 1943. -
D-Day
The landings at Normandy was an allied offensive to fight back the Nazis. These series of battles were ultimately an allied victory but with many casualties. Allied casualties peaked 10,000 while axis casualties reached 9,000. This battle was a turning point in the war, allowing the Allies to launch a counter-offensive against the Germans. -

The Yalta Conference was meant to discuss the post-war reorganization of Europe. By this time, the Nazi regime was crumbling and the allies knew it was a victory. -

The death of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler was a suicide. This is because he did not want to be captured by the allies. Hitler killed himself right as the soviets were taking over Berlin. -
Fall of Berlin
The battle of Berlin was a Soviet offensive into Germany. The German government encouraged the civilians in Berlin to fight back and repel the Soviets. In the end, the Soviets officially captured Berlin on May 2, 1945. -
Los Alamos
Los Alamos was a lab designated to the development of the Atomic Bomb. On July 16, 1945, the first atomic bomb was detonated 200 way from Los Alamos. The bomb created at this place was used against Japan. -

The Potsdam Conference was meant to negotiate terms for the ending of WWII. It was between Churchill, Truman, and Stalin. -
Hiroshima
The bombing of Hiroshima was an alternative to invading Japan with troops. This event killed hundreds of thousands of Japanese civilians. The US was hoping that Japan would surrender after this event.
