The Enola Gay dropped the atomic bomb named "little boy" on Hiroshima, Japan. -

The US dropped the "Fat Man" atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Nagasaki, leading to Japanese surrender 6 days later. -

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was a group of anti-communist powes in an attempt to stop the ally against the communist countries, and it wa srivaled by the Warsaw pact. -

War in the Korean penninsula that occurred when North Korea crossed the 38th parrallel into South Korea. The US was involved with the war on South Korea, and eventually the war ended with the 38th parallel being hte dividing line between the two countries, as it is today. -
Stalin's Death/Rise of Khrushchev
Stalin, leader of the Soviet union and Communist Party, dies of a storke in 1953, leaving Khrushchev to lead Russia (however he quickly denounces all of Stalin's ways). -

A treaty signed between the Soviet Union and it's satellite coutries like Bulgaria and Hungary that put the Soviet Union in control of the armies ofall the countries in volved. -

THe US decides to enter the Vietnam War since Vietnam is what is known as a domino country, where if it falls to communism, other coutries around it will too. -

The Soviet Union disenegrated into 15 seperate countries as a result of new policies set in place by Gorbachev and new nationalistic feeling by seperate countries.
