In an effort to end the war the Enola Gay dropped a five-ton bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima.The bomb immediately killed 80,00 on impact, tens thousands died in the following days. Then another atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki killing 40,000 more, resulting in the surrender of Japan.
