We dropped it 3 days after the first one,. Japan wouldn't surrender., so we had to show them what we had so they would. -
The surrender of Japan
By the summer of 1945, the defeat of Japan was a foregone conclusion. The Japanese navy and air force were destroyed. After the atomic bombs, they had no other option than to surrender.
