Japan attacks Pearl Harbor Bay
December 7th, 1941 is known as the "Day of Infamy." This is because December 7th is when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, one of the U.S's naval fleets. This killed about 2,400 people and basically brought the US into WWII. -

The United Nations is the world's largest organization. It was started when WWII ended in 1945. The main goal of the United Nations was to make world peace. -
Allies use atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
IN August of 1945, the US dropped their first atomic bomb of the city of Hiroshima. The aftermath was deadly. It killed thousands of people upon impact and it also killed people after due to radiation. Then, three days after the Hiroshima bombing, the US dropped a second bomb on Nagasaki, which caused Japan to surrender in WWII. -
Germany Surrenders
In May of 1945, Germany finally surrendered to the Allies at their headquarters in France. After Hitler and Germany surrendered, Hitler commited suicide which fully put an end to WWII.
