  • South Africa Occupation

    South African Troops crushed a pro-German rebellion.
  • Archduke Franz Ferdinand's Assassination in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

    Death of the heir to the Austro-Hungarian Empire by the Serbian Nationalist, Nedjelko Cabrinovic, sparked WWI between the tenacious countries.
  • Austria Declares War on Serbia

    After the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the countries decided to finally declare war on each other.
  • The Schlieffen Plan

    After Germany declared war on France, they invaded Belgium using their prepared war plan, The Schlieffen Plan.
  • Britian Declared War on Germany

    In response to the Schlieffen Plan, Britian declared war. When the Germans invaded Belgium's ports and then attacked France through Belgium, the British saw this as a threat and declared war.
  • First Invasion

    Germany invades Belgium.
  • Trench Warfare

    Poland entered the war as an allie with Germany. Trench warfare started to dominate the western front.
  • Lusitania Sunk

    A British sea liner was on the sea when a German U boat shot a missile at the ship killing 128 Americans Citizens.
  • Italy Joins the war.

    Italy entered the war on the side of the allies.
  • The March Revolution

    The women of Petrograd, Russia protested the streets when they started getting bread rations when the government was not. Russian troops started shooting at the crowd to calm the riot.
  • America Enters the War Against Germany

    After the sinking of the Lusitania Ship (killing 128 US citizens), Americans were furious against the German so they declared war.
  • Chinese Labour Corps

    Workers from China that got recruited by the British to do non-combat roles.
  • Treaty of Brest-Litovsk

    A peace treaty was signed in Brest-Litovsk for Russia to officially exit WWI.
  • The Second Battle of Marne

    The start of the collapse of the German army began when allied troops attacked the Germans’ large Marne salient.
  • Treaty of Versailles

    This was a peace treaty signed between the allied powers and Germany to end the war.
