This battle started in 1914 but did not end until 1917. The French and the Germans began what was called "The Race to the Sea" which was trying to cut off the opposing sideand cover as much ground as possible to fight.

Conscription is a form of propoganda. mcuh of Britain's conscription was related to haing more men join the military to fight in the great war.

England bombarded Turkish fort in Dardanelles

France and Britain worked together to attack the Turkish naval base. This hapened because the Turks wanted to control the straight that they would hope would seperate europe and asia known as the Dardanelles Campaign.

Since Jerusalem is a holy place to almost all monothiestic religions, it boosts Britain's confidence when Jerusalem is under there control. Some will even beleive god is on their side of the war and that they will win. Britain had succeeded in defeating the Turks and their morale will carry them throughout the war.
