This is an important event because Ferdinand assassination was done by Serbian's. Serbian wanted a there own state or that whoever was going to rule them should be Serbian and not Austrian. -

Austria declares war on Serbia. This is an important event because if no one would have declared a war there might not have been a war. Germany told Austria that if they declared war with Serbia, they would have Austria's back. -

The United States of America announces that they are going to remain neutral and not take sides in the war. The countries involved in the war probably got angry that the United States isn't taking sides. -
Battle of Tannenberg
This battle was fought between the Russians and the Germans. The Russian's Second Army was almost completely destroyed. Alexander Samsonov was so devastated about the loss the he committed suicide. Germany declares a war zone around Great Britain. They essentially created a blockade. Every merchant vessel that wasn't their's was a target. They wanted to cut off all the supplies to the enemies. -

This is an important event because it was the longest battle of World War I and one of the bloodiest. -
Battle of Jutland

Zimmerman Telegram
The Germans sent a message to Mexico asking them if they wanted to start an alliance with them if the United States entered the war. Britain intercepted this message and deciphered the code. -
United States Joins
The United States declares war on Germany. This is important because this brings the Americans, us, into it. This is important because at first we had said that we were going to stay neutral. -

President Woodrow Wilson gave this speech to try and negotiate the peace. It was a program that had fourteen points that's why it was called "Fourteen Points". -

Russia signs the Treaty of Brest Litovsk. This is a peace treaty between Russia and the Central Powers. -

Baron Manfred Von Richtofen was shot down. Richtofen was a German fighter pilot that had 80 victories. He was flying to close to the ground and was shot through he chest and shot down. -
Treaty of Versailles
This Treaty is the most important part of the war because it ended the war officially. Without the Treaty of Versailles the war could've lasted longer ending more lives of people.
