Archduke of the Austro-Hungarian Empire is Assassinated
On June 28, 1914, the Archduke of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Franz Ferdinand is assassinated. The Nationalist that killed him and his wife, Gavrilo Princip, was suspected to be from Serbia. At the time, Serbia and the Austro-Hungarian Empire didn't get along. -
Austro-Hungarian Nation declares war on Serbia
On July 28, one month after the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the empire declares war on Serbia. This was the official start of World War I. Only Austria-Hungry and Serbia were involved at the start. -
World leaders declare Neutrality and War
On August 1, 1914, many world leaders claim their side to this fight. The US claimed neutral, while Britain declared war on Germany. France declared war on France the same day. -
Germany leads air attack on Paris
On August 30, 1914, Germany leads an air assault on Paris. The attack has little to no military value, but it is meant to terrorize citizens. Thousands of people feared the event. -
Japan captures Tsingtao, China
On Halloween, 1914, the Germans surrender at Tsingtao to Japanese forces. The city is a valuable port city on the Yellow Sea. The Germans officially surrendered on November 6th. -

On November 9, 1918, the German Leader Wilhelm II surrenders his throne. This was the start to the end of the war. His abdication was also a significance that allies won the war. -
Armistice is signed
On November 11, 1918, the Armistice is signed to end World War I. This was signed at 11 AM in the French town of Redonthes. The was was officially over
