There was tension between the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Serbia. Other factors were involved in this conflict: rivalry and alliances led to a conflict between 32 nations in Europe. Two alliances were formed: the Allies and the Central Powers. -

Germans resented the terms imposed by the Treaty of Versailles. It blamed WWI on Germany and made them pay for reparations. As Hitler came into power, he blamed the unfairness on Jews, communists, and liberals. They abandoned peaceful agreements and led campaigns that sparked WWII. -
