Battle of Ypres
- Canadian soldiers arrived in France, as part of the British army
- April 22nd Canadians replaced the French in the war
- 6000 Canadians lost their lives in the second battle of Ypres
- Canada took part in the battle of Ypres
- Canadian soldiers fought bravely, some loosing their lives and some coming back home, but are remembered in the poem "Flanders Field."

Battle of Somme
- About 80 000 Canadian soldiers fought in the battle of Somme
- More than 24 000 Canadians were among the 624 000 allied soldiers killed (many lost their lives to fight in battle, proving that Canada is capable to fight and give us a name in history.)

Battle of Vimy Ridge
- Canadians were given the task to capture Vimy Ridge
- First time Canadians fought as their own country and together
- Canadians attacked on April 9th, they captured Vimy
- Conscription (even though some people didn`t want to enlist, the ones who fought gave Canada a name and made us victorious)
