Germany invades Holland and Belgium
Hiltler send 136 German divisions against Holland and Belgium. The Dutch was absolutley defenceless against the German forces. Four days later it was reported that the Dutch port city, Rotterdam was bombed with no provocation. -
Paris falls and France surrenders
On June 3, 1940 the first air raids on Paris began. The Germans marched toward the capital. Refugees fled from Paris and the government left June 11. -
Battle for Tobruk begins
In December of 1940 the British started defending in North Africa. They successfully removed the Itakians from Egypt. Then they won the battle in Tobruk, Lybia. -

When the Japan air force attacked the American Naval base inPeal Harbor they declare war on the U.S. and Britain. This was the date of the famous quote from Roosevelt. "a date which will live in infamy." This gave the U.S. the oppertunity to enter the war, aiding Britain against Hitler.

The Battle of Stalingrad begins
Begining in August, 1942 epic fighting started in Stalingrad, Russia. This led to a massive German defeat. Thpusands of Russian citizens died daily in an effort to keep the German forces from getting the city.

Allies invade Morocco and Algeria Axis occupied all of France
Eleven months after Pearl Harbor U.S. ships, men, and vehicles arrived on the Northern coast of Africa in Algeria. This was named Operation Torch. -
