  • Pearl Harbor

    This Made the U.S Declare war on Japan. Japanese made a surprise attack with jet bombers and sunk four out of eight U.S Navy battleships.

  • The Battle of Singapore

    The Japanese Attacked Singapore because it was a major British military base in Southeast Asia.This battle lasted 7 days. The Japanese. After the Japanese invaded Malaysia they found a way through Singapore and took the city which resulted in a Japanese victory

  • Doolittle's Raid

    This battle was given the name"Doolittle" because lieutenant Colonel James Doolittle led 16 bombers in the invasion. The U.S air force raided Toyko,Japan which, resulted in an American Victory.

  • Battle of Coral Sea

    This battle took in the sea between Australia, New Guinea and the Solomon islands. It was the Japanese Navy against the Allies air forces and Navy. This battle was good for the Allies because it repelled Japanese forces from taking over more land in the Pacific.

  • Battle of Midway

    This battle was one of the most important in the Pacific Campaing. The U.S Navy Defeated the Japanese Navy near the Hawaiian base. it lasted about four days and resulted in an important victory for the U.S

  • The fall of Hong Kong

    Japan attacked Hong Kong ( a Territory of Britian) because it was one of the closest territories to Japan.This battle lasted for 17 days. The British/Chinese alliance were outnumbered by the Japanese forces which resulted in a Japanese victory.

  • Battle of the Philipine Sea

    this battle was located in the sea right next to the Philipines( A U.S territory). The U.S navy defeated the Japanese and prevented them from conducting large-scale carrier actions.This lasted for 2 days and resulted in a gre at American victory.

  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    The American troops fought to take over the Japanese island Iwo Jima. This Battle lasted for a month and one week and resulted in a great American victory.

  • Battle of Okinawa

    This Battle took place on the Ryukyu Islands of Okinawa, Japan. This was the Largest amphibious assult in the Pacific.It lasted for about 82 days and resulted in a great Allied victory.This fight lead to the atomic bombing of Hiroshima which caused the Japanese to surrender .

  • The Manhattan Project

    This was the planning of bombing Japan. J. Robert Oppenheimer was the American scientist that helped develop the atomic bomb which, was the most ambitious scientific enterprise in history. This project helped the Japanese surrender to the U.S.
