Order passed by President FDR in result for fear of Japanese spies. Families of Japanese decent were forced to go to these camps to be under constant supervision. -
The Bataan March
It was a forcible transfer of 60,000-80,000 philpeanos and americans to a Japanese labor camp. These soldiers were given no food and no water during the March and had very harsh conditions in the Prision camps. -
D-Day
The Normandy invasion otherwise known as operation Neptune, in which the allies invaded Germany controlled France in Operation Overlord. It was commanded by General Dwight Eisenhower. This invasion was the allies attempt to end the war with Germany as quickly as possible. -
Auschwitz liberation
Auschwitz was the largest camp established by the Germans. On January 27 1945, the soviet army entered Auschwitz and liberated more than 7,000 remaining prisoners who were mostly ill and dying. -
Raising the flag on Mount Suribachi
As part of the USA's island hopping strategy to take Japan and end the war, they were fighting this battle on Iwo Jima on Mount Suribachi. This is an image of the brave soldiers showing pride in their nation by making sure its flag does not fall. -
Bombing of Hiroshima
An american airmen dropped Little Boy on the city of Hiroshima on 6 August 1945, followed by Fat Man over Nagasaki on 9 August. These atomic bombs delt major damage to these cities.
