  • Germany's invasion of poland

    1.5 million German troops invade poland all along it's 1,750 mile border with German controlled territory. the Germany luftwatte bomed polish airfields, and German warships and U-Boats attacked polish naval forces in the batlic sea.The native slaves would be enslaved.

  • Pearl Harbor

    hundreds of japanese fighter planes attacked the naval base at pearl harbor near nonoulu, hawaii. the japanese givernment believed that the only way to solve it's economic and demographic. aggression with a batttery of economic sanctions and trade embargoes.

  • D-Day

    Resulted in the allied liberation of western europe from nazi Germany's control. when some 156,000 american, british and canadian forces landed on five beaches along a 50-mile strech of the heavily fortified coast of france's normandy region. A significant psychological blow, it also prevented hitler from sending troops from france to build up his eastern front against the advancing soviets.

    The last major offensive of war, (opperation mist). It was an attempt tompush the allied front line west from northern france to north western belgium. a big impact it resulted in a massive loss of american lifes.

    the american amphibious invasion of iwo jima during ww2 stemmed from the need for a base near the japanese coast. following elaborate preparatory air and naval bomardment, three u.s. marine divistion landed on the island in feburary 1945. the american amphibious invasion of iwo jima, a key island in the bonin chain roughlt 575 miles from the japenese coast.

    last and biggest of the pacific island battles of world war 2, the okinawa campaign( april1- june 22, 1945) involved the 287,000 troops of the tenth army against 130,000 soiders of the japanese third- second army.
