    Executive Order 9066
    A order that forced all Japanese foreign or citizen living in the United States to go to a Internment camp untill war with Japan was over. Many suspectied that Japanese living in the United States were spys or still loyal to Japan and would turn on the U.S and aid the enemy.

    The Bataan March
    On April 9,1942 the Japanese forced 60,000-80,000 American and Flipino war prisoners to march 80 miles to Camp O'Donnell. Many did not survive the march to the camp due to lack of energy and food. Many also died because the Japanese were very brutal to them because they had surrenderd which was a sign of weakness to the Japanese.

    D-Day
    D-Day was the day that the United States stormed the beaches of Normandy. The invasion was led by Omar Bradley and required alot of planning and information. On the day of the invasion German infantry rained bullets down on the beach from their bunkers killing and injuring 10,000 allied troops. 6,000 of the injured and killed were Americans. The result of the invasion was a success.

    Auschwitz was the largest and most brutal concentration camp established by the Germans. In mid January 1945 Soviet troops near Aushwitz. Germans at Auschwitz flee and take prisoners with but some are still left behind at the camp. On January 27,1945 Soviet troops liberate Auschwitz freeing many prisoners.

    The raising of the flag on Mount Suribachi during the battle of Iowa Jima had a big impact on the United States. The picture taken of the men raising the flag was an icon in the United States. Magizines and Newspapers had the picture on the front cover, and because of this picture many Americans wanted to help and support the heros who were fighting in the war.

    Bombing of Hiroshima
    The United States warned Japan that if they didnt surrender that they would face utter distruction. But Japan ignored the warning and on August 6,1945 American airmen dropped the Nuclear bomb named Little Boy on the city of Hiroshima. The effects of Little Boy were devestating killing and estimated 90,000 to 166,000.
