Pearl Harbor is a United States military base located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The attack on Pearl Harbor was plane bombing attacks by Japanese pilots. Over 2,400 American military and non-military citizens lost their lives during this attack that entered the United States into World War two. -
Philippines
During World War two, the Philippines were attacked by Japanese military forces. The United States helped Filipino forces defend themselves against these attacks. This battle also took place 9 hours after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, a military base in Hawaii (United States territory/state) -

Japanese Internment Camps were labor camps hosted by the United States that help Japanese Americans and Japanese Americans with Japanese heritage and ancestors. Japanese citizens of the U.S were forced to relocate here and could not leave. -

"Island hopping" was a strategy used by the Allies, mainly being the United States during World war two. This strategy was the process of taking over an island, using it to establish a military base for the Allies, and then using the base to take over another island. -

fought on the seas, this battle was between the United States navy and Japanese navy. This battle resulted in a victory for the United States, the U.S surprise attacked the Japanese navy fleet, and turned the tide for the Allies for World War two. -

the Guadalcanal campaign was a battle during world war two. this battle took place on the island of Guadalcanal, around and on the actual island. This battle was also nicknamed "Operation watchtower" by the United States military forces. -

Fought in the city of Stalingrad located in southern Russia, the battle of Stalingrad was one of the biggest if not the biggest of World War two battles in Europe. this battle was between Germany and the Soviet Union, while Germany was attempting to break their agreement with Russia and take over the country. -
D-Day
On this day, The Allied powers rushed and attacked the German army off of the coast of France. This attack was a Victory for the Allies, including the United States. One major reason this attack was successful is because the Germans weren't expecting an attack that was southbound, and also weren't expecting an attack due to the extreme weather conditions. -
Meeting at Yalta
code-named the Argonaut conference, this was a world war two discussion conference attended by the super powers. The United States, Soviet Union, and United Kingdom met here in order to figure out a plan for post-war Europe. -

One of the final battles in Europe of World War two, the battle of Berlin was a severely harsh one for the German Nazi side. The Soviet Army outnumbered the German army by at least 1,500,000 soldiers. This battle ended with the surrender of the German army, and Hitlers reign of terror was over. -

Hitler was warned by his advisors that the Russians were just days away from taking over a town near him and a house he owned, and he and his wife of two days committed a double suicide. The German court did not release and officially declare his death to the German public until 1956. -

Los Alamos in a city in Mexico that contained an important secret. This city was a location for the building of an atomic bomb for the United States Manhattan project. the worlds first atomic bomb was deployed 200 miles south of this Mexican city. -

This was the World War two meeting attended by the "Big Three". Joseph Stalin, leader of Russia, Winston Churchill who was Prime Minister of the UK, and President Harry Truman of the United States -
Hiroshima
Hiroshima was a largely populated city in Japan. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, (see "Pearl Harbor" event on timeline) the United States needed to hit Japan with atomic reinforcements. though the United States released the attacks of Hiroshima and Nagasaki much later in the war this attack hit Japan so hard that it wiped out 80,000 Japanese citizens. and thousands of others died due to radiation exposure.
