    Lloyd had an older brother who passed away during the war that made a big impact on him. Him and his older brother were very close and before the war his older brother was his elementary school teacher.

    The Battle of Verdun was also a very important even that happened in WW1 because it was the battle was the longest of the First World War and took place on the hills north of Verdun-sur-Meuse. This war went on for most of the year 1916. France held down the German during this war.

    The Battle of the Somme was a big event during WW1 because it made a huge impact on the number of troops that were out there. Fought by the armies of the British Empire and the French Third Republic against the German Empire.

    The Battle of Jutland is also a very important event in WW1 because it was a naval battle between Britain's Royal Navy Grand Fleet. After this battle, Germany would make no attempt to break this blockade again.
