Conscription Act (-2)
The conscription act was a rule that was given out in 1863. It stated that all men were to serve their country in the war if they were to meet all the requirements. This did not give most of them the chance to choose, and they were forced to join. This act is ranked at a -2 because, in my opinion, their children would need their father and brothers, and the mother would need a man in the house because at the time. The reason I ranked it at a -2 is that many of them could not make it back. -
First Nation Soldiers (-1)
Many of them were not given the chance to volunteer and help defend their country. They were then accepted when the war needed troops. The reason this is ranked at -1 is that they were able to get recognized by the public. Even though they were not as discriminated like before, they were still a bit hated on because of who they were. The process of this situation and a little while after the event progressed but then heading towards decline -
Black Canadian Soldiers (1)
When Black Canadians asked for an opportunity to be able to attend and help their country in the war, they were turned down. Black people were given the opportunity to join the war when there were not enough soldiers. Jeremiah Jones, a Black man amongst many other white soldiers, continued to win the battle of Vimy Ridge with his crew and successfully save them. his shows the progress that these Black Canadians made after WW1, which is why I ranked it at a 1. -
War Nurses (2)
Women were not given any chances outside of their homes at all and were to be taking care of the house and the children at all costs. They could not do anything about it since the whole society would be against them. When the war started, women were given the opportunity to join the war and aid soldiers and war nurses. These women proved themselves to the outside world, and were not minorities anymore and got many acts that supported them. These factors include why I ranked this situation +2. -
War Pilots (-1)
War pilots had more of a negative effect regarding the event because as aeroplanes were more used, it caused a lot more deaths. It may have had some positive aspects to you. It considerably improved Canada’s technology and it helped Canada in many wars. These factors include why I ranked this at a -1. -
FIrst Nation Children (-2)
In 1920, it was mandatory for all Indigenous children to attend a residential school, and it is illegal for them to attend any other educational system. he kids were taken away from their families and were forced to practice Christianity and to forget their own culture. This situation was a deep decline because the children were abused physically, mentally, and sexually. -

Henry Ford invented the first automobile in 1920, making it easier for all North Americans to travel. It became a hit for everyone and almost every household acquired an automobile. This helped the industry and economy as every American either had an automobile or was hoping and saving up to get one. This event improved technology, transportation, and the economy, which is why I ranked it at a 1. -
Recognition of Insulin (2)
Insulin was invented in Canada by a medical student. This invention affected many positively and is still leaving a lot of progress nowadays. This medicine will leave a legacy as time goes by, which is why this discovery was progress. -
Invention of Radios (1)
Even though radios were invented in the 1890s, the idea of it was gathering in the 1920s after the war, to be even more precise, close to 1922. It was easier for people to distance from using newspapers as much since everything would be digital. This had a boom in technologies which is the reason why I ranked it at 1. -
