    The start of World War One after the Assignation of Franz Ferdinand and the alliances in Europe at the time.
  • Sinking of the Lusitania

    Sinking of the Lusitania
    Germany was using U-boats to sink many ships in European waters at the time. Many of these boats were carrying weapons and munition for the allied forces which prompted Germany to sink many ships. The Lusitania happened to be one of those ships filled with Americans.
  • First Women Elected to Congress

    Jeannette Rankin of Montana was the first woman to be elected into Congress. She was one of the only representatives to vote no for both world wars.
  • Great Migration

    The Great Migration was the moving of many African Americans from the South of the US to the North. This occurred from 1916 to 1970.
  • Selective Service Act

     Selective Service Act
    This was a law that was signed into action by president Willison. It stated that all men between 21 and 30 had to register for military service. Now is known as the draft.

    Lenin led a Russian Revolution
    The revolution in Russia that occurred on November 6 and 7 of 1917. Was a coup to revolt over the previous government and establish a new one.

    The Spanish Flu of 1918 was a pandemic of the H1N1 that affected around 500 million people across the world.
  • Wilson’s 14 points

    Wilson’s 14 points
    The 14 points were Willison's vision to end world war and create the league of Nations. IT would end up winning him a Nobel peace prize.

    The Sedition Act is an act passed in 1918 that dealt with speech during WW1. The act made publishing, writing, and talking in general bad about the US government a crime.

    The end of WW1 occurred when Germany surrendered. Later would sign the Treaty of Versailles formally ending the war.

    This was a Supreme Court case that dealt with the freedom of speech. This case decided that freedom of speech could be restricted in cases of danger and the right situations.

    US Senate rejects Treaty of Versailles
    The Treaty of Versailles was objected to because of the objections of many senators and the fact that Willison did not listen to them.

    The 19th amendment allowed women to vote for the first time in the US.

    Warren Harding was elected to the position of US president by a landslide.
  • Teapot Dome Scandal

    Teapot Dome Scandal
    The Teapot Dome Scandal was a scandal that dealt with many office members of the Harding administration. Much of the scandal had to with bribery over many different office officials. Such as the Secretary of the Interior Harry F. Sinclair and his bribes to give many oil reserves to big oil businesses.

    Warren Harding dies of a heart attack promoting Calvin Clooge to President.
  • The Butler Act

    This act was passed by Kentucky legislators prohibiting the teaching of evolution in schools.
  • First Transatlantic Flight

    Charles Lindbergh completes the first transatlantic flight. The flight takes 33 hours and is from New York to Paris.
  • Stock Market Crash

    The Stock Market Crash of 1929 was when many stock markets crashed leaving. This eventually leads to the great depression as the economy would take some time to come back.
