Father was a tailor. Moved to Chicago with his brother and worked as a tailor for four years. worked as a farm hand for a while eventually moved back to Chicago, worked in a war factory.

    married a girl who wasn’t a commoner was from a noble family but the lineage was deemed ineligible to rule. the marriage was not withstanding so he remained. he agreed to attend a series of military exercises in Bosnia. referred to the Serbians as pigs. a society of peasant students plotted to assassinate him. and on June 28th 1914 they succeeded.

Russia believed Serbia had to be punished for the murder of archduke Franz Ferdinand. Austria Hungary were attempting to prevent an all out European war

Demanded free passage through Belgium. this causes Belgium to join the allied forces. it was very apparent that the Belgian army wasn’t a match for the German army. one after the other Belgian outpost fall under German control.

    From what I could understand on how the machine works it prevents the pilot from shooting the blades of his aircraft. imagine throwing something at your fan chances are you might hit the fan. the device would time it so your less likely to hit the blade. The device was invented by Anton Fokker in 1915. since the date isn't set in stone for the sake of convenience ill put January 1st 1915.

    Notes: during the afternoon of may 7th 1915 the germans sink the lusitania using unrestricted sub tactics. 128 Americans on board drowned. this made America mad obviously but what really set us into the war was the telegraph sent from germany to mexico.

    May 4th 1916 Germany agrees to president Woodrow Wilson's demands to limit submarine warfare. Germany had been using unrestricted sub warfare around the area of the British isles. Germany had been sinking mostly merchant ships eventually leading to the sinking of the Lusitania. this lead to Germany agreeing to limit sub warfare.

    Notes: in 1915 the first prototype tank rolled off the assembly line in England. weighed 14 tons and crawled over trenches only at 2 miles per hour. the British developed the tank in response to the trench warfare. to keep this invention a secret they were told the vehicles were gonna be used to carry water.

    codebreakers intercepted the telegram and Germany offered if the U.S. joins the war then mexico would be in a secret alliance with Germany. In return Germany promised to return provinces America had acquired.

    Battle Of Cantigny
    was the first sustained American offense of WW1 4,000 U.S. troops capture the village of Cantigny. A two artillery barrage preceded the attack on cantigny. General J Pershing gave the order that no inch of Cantigny was to be surrendered. Over the course of 72 hours of holding the village and 7 counterattacks casualties reached over 1000 for the Americans. A colonel recalled they could only stagger back and if they stopped for a second they would fall asleep.
