    Battle of Gallipoli

    The Battle of Gallipoli was an attempt to capture Gallipoli Peninsula by the Allies. Though this solidified the Ottoman resistance. The Allied forces mainly consisting of Britain, Australia, and New Zealand forces fought this battle against the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman are considered the winners, and in total the casualties go as follows: The Allies lost around 213,000 soldiers while the Ottoman lost around 250,000.

    This battle occurred mainly due to the Germans wanting to test new weapons and their want for territory. This battle lead to the consequence of widespread use of gas masks and greater defensive measures against chemical attacks. The British, French, and Germans soldiers participated in this battle. There were around 60,000 British casualties, roughly 10,000 French casualties, and close to 35,000 German casualties. This battle was won by the French and British armies.

    This battle occurred to break French morale and force them to seek peace. This battle was a tactically victory for the French yet it still left both sides with deep psychological impacts. The two sides of this fight were the French with around 377,000n casualties and the Germans with about 330,000 casualties.

    This battle was just Germany's attempt to challenge and break British naval dominance and break the blockade the Royal Navy had imposed on them. The battles only consequence was proving British naval superiority. Obviously the battle was won by the British who only had around 6,000 casualties, and the Germans lost with 2,500 casualties.

    Brusilov Offensive

    This battle was primarily just to relieve the Allied forces on the Western front by forcing troops to spread out towards the east. This lead to the weakening of the Austro-Hungarian Empire as its main consequence. The Russians won, and suffered what is estimated to be between 500,000 to 1,000,000 casualties, while the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Garman Empire suffered about 1,000,000 casualties total.

    This battle was to relieve pressure from the French at Verdon by launching attacks towards German forces on the Somme River. This battle had the consequences of having a bloody stalemate, and is considered one of the most costly battles in human history. This battle has no clear winner. The British participated and had over 420,000 casualties, the French had roughly 200,000 casualties, and the Germans had over 500,000 casualties.

    This battle was an attempt by the Allies to capture the high ground around the city of Ypres. This battle resulted in the confidence of the British to sink, and is a symbol if the futility of war. The allies won this battle with 300,000 casualties. While the Germans had 260,000 casualties.

    The Central Powers targeted the area because of Italy's weak defense at the time. The consequence was a nasty Italian defeat causing major shifts in Italian government and military leadership. Italy 11,000 deaths and 29,000 injured. While the freshly victorious Central powers had about 50,000 casualties.

    Battle of Cambrai

    This battle was a British plan to break through the German Hindenburg line using large tanks. The consequence of this battle was a stalled battle with little territory gained and mass casualties. In correspondence to this there was a draw between the British, who had suffered about 45,000 casualties, and the Germans, who had suffered 41,000 casualties.

    The Spring Offensive was a large scale military campaign by the German army aimed at breaking the stalemate at the western front. The consequences of this fight were little strategic value in the plan and Allied counter attacks. In the end the Allies won with around 328,000 casualties, and the Germans suffered 348,000 casualties.

    This was a defensive battle that aimed to defend Paris from a major German attack to capture it. The consequences for the Germans were significant setbacks offensively, and majorly boosting Allied morale. The U.S. won the battle with only 9,777 casualties. While the Germans have no known casualties 1,600 if their forces were taken.

    While not actually a Hundred names as it names entails it was aimed at breaking the German army and force them to surrender. The major consequence was for Germany since they lost the war. The Allies won this battle resulting in them winning the war. In this battle the Allies suffered around one million casualties. The Germans suffered 1,172,075 casualties.
