the Zimmerman telegram was a telegram sent by Germany to mexico to offer a reward for joining their side of the war. but it was intersected by the British and they showed it to us. -
the united states enters the war
the united states entered the war with great haste after Wilson got elected for the second term. he tried to keep neutral but the Germans didn't listen so he had no choice but to declare war on Germany. america got prepared with a total war effort. the government took control of the economy and made the production of weapons a priority. -
Russia backs out
the great power of Russia was having problems in their own land. the people of their country were revolting and the Russians had no other option then to focus on that. they signed a peace treaty and went on their way. but this made it harder on the allies because now Germany could focus their whole military or what they had left of it on the western front. -
the second battle of Marne
in the second battle of Marne was won and the Germans started to loose hope as to the point that they could not go any farther. the Germans had no inspiration left and fought their last battles with great defeat. -
the treaty of Versailles
Germany finally found that they weren't going to win and agreed to end the war. they signed a treaty that stated the world war was their fault and also they would pay for the damages. the treaty also restricted the size and power of the military.
