He was an English poet known for his idealistic war sonnets written during the First World War, In 1915, he was killed by a mosquito.

    The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was probably the event that triggered the war. He was shot by Gavrilo Princip, one of a group of six Bosnian Serb assassins coordinated by Danilo Ilić.     The Battle of Iwo Jima was one of the bloodiest battles in the Pacific Campaign of the Second World War. The purpose of the invasion was to conquer the airstrips on the island as they were necessary to the Americans in order for them to win the war against Japan. The Americans initiated their invasion of the island on 19 February 1945 and had conquered the three airstrips and won the battle by 26 March.
