  • Japan Invades China

    Japan Invades China
    The Japanese where practicing imperialism when they where trying to get the resources to make their country more important. Their solution? Invade China. This added to the Japanese Empire while they also invaded Korea and other places before World War Two started.
  • Fall of Paris

    Fall of Paris
    This is when Germany invade Paris and more or less officially started World War Two. This event obviously led to everything that happened in World War Two from D-Day to the dropping of the Atomic Bomb.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    Pearl Harbor was an attempt by the Japanese to keep the United States neutral in World War Two. Their attempt was unsuccessful as the US was hardly neutral to begin with and this attack only pushed them to join the Allies against the Axis powers.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    D-Day, code named Operation Overlord, was an attack by the allies to take back France from the Axis powers. While the price was high for the Allies, they where successful in their attack to retake France from Germany.
  • Battle of Bulge

    Battle of Bulge
    The battle of bulge was the last major German offensive in the war and a last ditch attempt to push back the allies. It was unsuccessful and they where forced back from Belgium, France, and Luxembourg near the end of the war.
  • The Battle of Iwo Jima

    The Battle of Iwo Jima
    The battle of Iwo Jima was a result of the United States island hopping in the pacific towards Japan in order to end the war. They took this island for the airfields that it housed and its proximity to Japan. The US took the island and this was one of the last major steps in ending the World War Two conflict.
  • Liberation of the Concentration Camps

    Liberation of the Concentration Camps
    This is the day that the Allies started to liberate the concentration camps from the Nazis. This freed over 200,000 prisoners in the camp near Weimar, Germany
  • VE day (Victory in Europe Day)

    VE day (Victory in Europe Day)
    This was the day that the allies in Europe celebrated for winning the war. It was declared a public holiday and was the official acceptance of Germany's unconditional surrender.
  • Dropping of the Atomic Bomb

    Dropping of the Atomic Bomb
    This is the day that the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. This event greatly accelerated the end of World War Two. The Japanese soon surrendered to the United States after a second bomb was dropped later.
  • VJ Day (Victory over Japan Day)

    VJ Day (Victory over Japan Day)
    This is the day that the United States won Japan. It has since been know as Victory over Japan Day, or just VJ Day for short.
