    In 1688, The glorious revolution resulted in a bill of rights that affirmed Parliaments right to make laws.

    In 1765, Parliament imposed the stamp act on the colonies. This made it so certain government papers, such as newspapers, had to have a special stamp on it stating that tax was paid to Britain. This act was reversed only a year later.

    In 1787, delegates met in Philadelphia at the constitutional convention to revise the Articles of confederation.
