European and "Secret" Alliances
Germany made an alliance with Austria-Hungary and Italy in 1881. These countries protected each other from France if they attacked, but Italy made a secret alliance with France saying they won't help Germany. France and Russia also made an alliance in 1892. In 104, Britain and France signed an agreement, and the Triple Entente was formed between France, Britain, and Russia in 1907. These were the causes of WW1. (causes) -

A Battle to Death
German general kept trying to inflict damage on British and French before American troops could arrive, making them on the brink but they didn't break. The Allies counterattacked the Germans with the Hundred Days Offensive, winning over Amiens, Meuse-Argonne, and shatter Hindenburg lines, forcing the Germans into a full retreat. Allied forced compelled them to seek an armistice on November 11, 1918. (event) -
Treaty of Versailles
Germany was forced to sign this treaty before they would be attacked. It was all their fault for creating the entire World War, if they hadn't entered, then they wouldn't have brought other countries along. Germany had to pay all the damage that was caused by the war even if it wasn't their fault. They could also only have 100,000 people in their army and could have almost no Navy or Air force, also losing land, This led to lots of chaos which played a factor in the next World War. Holocaust
It was a systematic persecution and murder of about 6 million Jews by the Nazis who beloved that they were "radically superior" to Jews and deemed "inferior" and "unworthy of life". They also targeted groups like the Gypsies, handicapped, and some Slavic peoples. (events) -
New Dictators Are Coming!
Germany was thrown into chaos Russia and Italy were having problems too becasue of WW1, and to fix these problems, society allowed dictators to arise. Germany had Adolf Hitler. In Italy it was Mussolini, and In Russia, it was Stalin. Each political leaders were powerful, and wanted to return their countries to their previous power. This eventually led to WW2 in the future. Germany Invades Poland
When Hitler invaded Poland in September 1939, France and Britain declared war on Germany. After conquering Poland, Germany attacked France. France fell in June 1940, and soon the Nazis overran most of the rest of Europe and North Africa. Only Britain was not defeated. (events) -

Creation of Untied Nations, a supranational organization dedicated to keeping world peace. The commitment to establish a new international organization derived from Allie cooperation during the war, and it was finalized in the UN conference in San Francisco in 1945. (consequence) -

Enunciation of the Truman Doctrine on March 12, 1947 made the new US perception of a world divided between free and enslaved people.US then committed itself to an interventionist foreign policy, dedicated to the stop of communism, sending sums of money to Greece and Turkey, and the world was polarized into two armed camps, each held by a superpower that provided economic military aid to nations within its sphere.
