Trench Offensives Side
Really powerful artillery guns were placed several miles behind the front line. From where they were they would through explosives onto the battlefield. They made trenches to protect them from the other sides artillery. -

For the time Alice was working as a nurse she did not get sick. Many of the patients would die each day because of sickness and the waould not keep track of who died. The hospital where Alice worked did not have a morgue. -
New Technology
April 1915 is when the Germans first started using poison gas. The gas that they used would cause them to vomit, go blind, and suffocation. In no time the other sides started using gas on them. -
War at Sea
When at sea the planes would often land one the ship. Modle AB-2 airplanes would be catapulted off of the deck of the USS north carilona. The first time this happened was on a US ship. -
Animals at War
A lot of times during the war the horses would carry Wester Frount shells. Camels would often times gather around a water station to drink water. They were also joined but other animals. -
Aerial warfare
During the war the Germans would would watch ballons. The MK III was built to match the lewis gun. It was the same in size, handling, and weight. -
Russia Leaves the War
The leader of Russia Czar Nicholas II abdicated his throne. Russia leaving the war stated the Russian Revolution. The government leaders wanted Russia to stay in the war. -
Gas in the Trenches
The men were forced to carry gas masks when fighting in the trenches. They had to do this because the men on both sides started throughing gas into the other sides trenches. they had to wear the masks to stay alive. -
War technology
American troops would use a newly developed acoustic locator mounted on a wheeled platform. The large horns amplified distant sounds. The sound was monitored through headphones worn by crew members. That was later replaced by a radar in 1940. -
Germany's Last Offensive
Germany Stated using gas on the western front of the U.S. Next Germany the started to go to Paris less then 40 miles. Then America Helped by attacking Germany. -
War at Sea
the United states marines and sailors would pose for pictures. Ones a mine was draged from the sea by the men. it was draged from the north sea onto heligoland. -

The day the war ended it was all over newspapers. for the next few days it was all people were talking about. Alice and sme of her friends got in a taxi and went to little rock. -

After Alice got out of service she got married to her second husband which she later regretted. She went to Arkansas which was the only place she could vote for temperance. Alice and her father both belived it was right for women to vote.
