    WWl: Assasination of Ferdinand
    Two bullets were fired at Sarajevo Street. Seven young men who had been trained in bomb throwing were stationed along the route that Franz Ferdinand's car would follow from the City Hall to the inspection. There were 2 terrorists that werent able to shoot there grenades because the crowd was too crowded, and Ferdinands car was moving to fast. By the third terrorist, he threw a grenade,that injured assistants. On the way to the hospital 2 shots were fired, killing Ferdinand & his wife.

    This battle was first fought in September 6, and ended September 12. The war of movement seen since August 1914 had been gone, and the trench warfare combined with WW1 had come into being. When Germany invaded Belgium on August 3rd 1914, their movement across Western Europe was fast and in agreement with the Schlieffen Plan.

    The sinking of the Lusitania was thought to have made a major impact on America and World War One, but America did not join the war for another two years. The Lusitania was thought to have more then just passengers on board. Germans had thought that Great Britain was throwing in weapons to help them fight for war.

    The Battle of Verdun in 1916 was the longest single battle of World War One. This battle had ended on December 16th in 1916. This war was the greatest battle ever, it involved so many men in such a small piece of land. The Germans captured the fort in Verdun and took control of it's forts.

    The 1916 election was agaisnt Woodrow Wilson and Charles Evan Hughes. Woodrow was Democratic while Hughes was Republican. The United States presidential election of 1916 took place while Europe was involved in World War I. After a hard-fought contest, Wilson defeated Hughes by a close call. Wilson was helped by his campaign slogan "He kept us out of war".

    A note sent in 1917 from the German Foreign Minister Zimmerman to his ambassador in Mexico, containing details of a proposed alliance against America. The Zimmerman Telegram aka 'note', was sent from a German official in Germany to a German official in Mexico asking him to join an aliance with Germans, the Germans told them that they would help get the USA back to for the Mexicans.

    It was a series of events that took place during 1917, which entailed two separate revolutions in February and October (with a great deal of political disagreements in between), and which eventually charged the country into Civil War before leading to the founding of the Communist State. The immediate cause of the February Revolution of 1917 was the collapse of the czarist regime under the gigantic strain of World War I.

    The Selective Service Act or Selective Draft Act was passed by the Congress of the United States. It was imagined in December 1916 and brought to President Woodrow Wilson's attention shortly after the break in relations with Germany in February 1917. It authorized the federal government to raise a national army numbering in the hundreds of thousands with which to fight a modern war. The Act was canceled with the end of the war on November, 1918.

    The WIB, or War Industries Board came into existence during World War 1. This was made, or established by the government of United States to acheive the requirements of materials that are necessary for war. This organization persuaded companies that they should increase the manufacturing of the war product as it will help during war. WIB took the task of managing the labors by providing them with high wages and avoiding their strikes.

    WWl: Fourteen Points
    The Fourteen Points was a speech given by United States President Woodrow Wilson to a joint session of Congress.The address was intended to assure the country that the Great War was being fought for a moral cause and for postwar peace in Europe. The speech was delivered 10 months before the Armistice with Germany and became the basis for the terms of the German surrender, as negotiated at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919.

    WWl: Armistice Day
    Armistice Day is also known as Rememberance Day. Armistice Day in France remembers those who died or were injured in World War I and other wars. The representatives signed an armistice treaty in the early hours of November 11, 1918, to end the World War I hostilities on the Western Front. World War I officially ended at 11 minutes past the 11th hour on November 11, 1918, because of the treaty. A law was approved on October 24, 1922, to make November 11 a public holiday in France.

    WWl: Treaty of Versailles
    The Treaty of Versailles was one of the peace treaties at the end of World War I. It ended the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers. It was signed on 28 June 1919, exactly five years after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Although the armistice signed on 11 November 1918, ended the actual fighting, it took six months of negotiations at the Paris Peace Conference to come to an end with the peace treaty.
