August 26 - The Battle of Tannenberg begins. The Battle of Tannenberg was the first major battle in World War I on the eastern front. It pitted the forces of Russia against those of Germany. -
One Silent Night
December 24 The unofficial Christmas truce is declared. They two side joined in the singing of silent night in their native language. The joined together in a match of football aalthough it went against their leaders they did what was best, for the sake of christmas. -
