On May 7, 1945, Germany surrenders to the Allied troops. On May 9, 1945, Germany surrenders to the Soviet Union. -
Ending WWII #3
The United States and the Soviet Union begin to invade Japan in May and August of 1945. On August 6, 1945, the United States drops an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. And On August 9, 1945, the United States drops an atomic bomb on Nagasaki. This leads to the surrender of Japan along with the official ending of WWII on September 2, 1945.
