    Conference of three heads of government including the USSR, USA, and UK. They discussed relationships between each country. Leaders involved were Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill, and Harry Truman. The outcome was to determine post war boarders in Europe.

  • Truman Doctrine

    Truman Doctrine
    Relations policy from president Harry Truman where Greece and Turkey are helped by the US in economic and financial aid so they arent taken by the Soviet Union. The Policy changed, stating possible US intervention in far away conflicts.

US military occupied the southern half and the Soviet military occupied the northern half. They attempt to unify, but there is still tension between North and South Korea today. Full death toll:1.2million. A division of Korea was agreed apon callled the Armistice.

It was in response to Egyptian president Nasser seizing control of the Suez Canal Company in ordetr to pay for the Aswan High Dam. The canal was used for shimpents of oil from the Persain Gulf to Europe. Nasser was a victor, Britan and France lost influence in the Middle East.

    North Vietnam allied by the Soviet Union China and other communists, against South Vietnam allied by the US and other Anti communist allies. The war was mainly over communism and trying to stop it from being spread, which is why the US became involved with it.

    Government responsible for space exploration and established by Dwight D. Eisenhower. The US and the Soviet Union competed in many different ways besides war. The race to space was won by the Soviet Union getting the first man in space, but the US had the first man on the moon.
