Blitzkrieg warfare began in Poland, then traveled to Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Frace, Yugoslavia, and finally Greece. This type of attack (translating to "lightning war") came as a surprise, having no spark or indication of its arrival. -

On August 6, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. Three days later, they dropped another on Nagasaki, Japan. These were the only two atomic bombs to ever be used in history, and forced Japan to surrender from the war. -
