  • World War Two Begins

    World War II is thought to have started at many different points in this span of history, but the most plausible was on September 1, 1939.

  • Britain and Frace Declare War

    They declared war on Germany on the third of September.
  • Germany Invades Poland

    Germany invaded eastern Poland on September 17th.
  • Blitzkrieg Warfare Begins (all through September)

    Blitzkrieg warfare began in Poland, then traveled to Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Frace, Yugoslavia, and finally Greece. This type of attack (translating to "lightning war") came as a surprise, having no spark or indication of its arrival.

    This was Hitler's fatal mistake in World War II. The Russian army was and still is a relentless force, and it is rare when anyone can defeat them.
  • Attack on Pearl Harbor

    On December 7, 1941, Japanese planes flew over the Pearl Harbor naval base, attacking the area with bombs in hopes to destroy its ships and other weapons.
  • U.S Enters the War

    In response to the Pearl Harbor attacks, the United States entered the war on December 8th.
  • Battle of Stalingrad Begins

    This battle began when the Nazi army bombed the Soviet's city Stalingrad, and became one of the bloodiest battles in history.

    In 1943, Germany was forced to surrender in the violent Battle of Stalingrad against the Soviets.
  • D-Day

    American, British, and Canadian forces landed on beaches in Normandy France, starting "the beginning of the end of war in Europe."
  • Mussolini Dies

    Two days before Hitler killed himself, Benito Mussolini was assassinated.
  • Hitler Dies

    On April 30th, 1945, Adolf Hitler committed suicide. One week later, Germany surrendered for good.
  • Germany Surrenders

    After the death of their leader, Germany is forced to surrender from the war.
  • Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombings

    On August 6, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. Three days later, they dropped another on Nagasaki, Japan. These were the only two atomic bombs to ever be used in history, and forced Japan to surrender from the war.
  • World War Two is Over!
