  • Battle of the Atlantic

    Battle of the Atlantic
    3rd most significant
This event took place at the Atlantic ocean. This wasn't and actual battle, Canadian troop were sending supplies to their British allies. We had to transfer supplies usuing boats, because the German's were using their aircrafts. We had to build a radar system in order for us to live because the Germans where on water and in the air. I would rank this as the 3rd most significant battle because, Canada was responsible for themselves to transfer the supplies without much help.
  • Battle of Dunkirk

    Battle of Dunkirk
    8th most significant
This battle took place in Dunkirk, France. This battle was between the allies of France against the Germans. Britain had to surrender to Germany accepting defeat, resulting in the loss of land. I would rank this as the 8th most significant battle because it didn't really improve Canada's independance. In order for Canada to become an independant country, they need to able to fight by themselves. Canada, also needs to be able to win battles to boost their confidence.
  • Battle of Britain

    Battle of Britain
    6th most significant
This battle took place in the UK. Even though this battle resulted in a win, it doesn't necessarily mean that Canada is an independant country. Canada won this battle with England's assistance. This was a major air battle for both sides becuse Germany's objective was to be more superior over the Royal Air Force. I'd rank this as the 6th most significant battle because they won the battle, but they didn' completely do it on their own. Canada could've been more superior.
  • Battle of Hong Kong

    Battle of Hong Kong
    5th most significant
This battle took place in Hong Kong, nearly Christmas time. The Canadians were authorized to protect Hong Kong from Japan, but where unable to do so. The Canadians became prisoners because they have lost the battle. I'd rank this as the 5th most significant battle because Canada was unable to become victorious, losing their momentum of becoming an independant country.
  • Axis Dieppe (Dieppe Raid)

    Axis Dieppe (Dieppe Raid)
    7th most significant
This battle took place in Dieppe, France (northern coast of France). This battle wasn't very significant compared to others because, most of the Canadian troops didn't make it home. It would have been more significant if the Canadians won the battle, or at least made it back home. Canadians failed to meet certain objectives, to be successful.
  • Battle of the Boot (Italian Campaign)

Battle of the Boot (Italian Campaign)
    4th most significant
This campaign took place in Italy. This was a pretty significant battle for us, Canadians because it resulted in a win. Canada protected Italy from the Germans. Since that win, Canada devloped a tecnique of mouse holing, clearing every room one by one. I'd rank this as is because the Canadians did learn and use a new technique, for them to be strategically superior. Canada' did not have too many casualties in comparison to other significant battles.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    The Most signficant battle!
This battle took place at Normandy, France. Allied forces of Canada, tried to take back the stolen land in Europe from Nazi Germany, was called Operation Overload. Even though Canada fought with allies, it was a significant victory for us because we were increasing a independace from Britain. I'd rank this as number 1 because it was Canada's turning point as as a nation.
  • Liberation of Netherlands

    Liberation of Netherlands
    2nd most significant
This battle took place in the Netherlands. Canada's role was to liberate the Netherlands from Gernman occupation, following the Netherlands defeat. Canada was able to stop the German forces, but unfortunately some people died due to starvation. Canada did fight on their own, becoming a stronger unit. Canada was able to have a minimum amount of casaulties, throughout the liberation. In appreciation of the Netherlands, they send tulips over every year.
