The Battle of the Bulge
The Battle of the Bulge was Germanys last offensive on the western front (border between France and Germany) in attempt to recapture belgium and split up the allies but instead end up quickly retreating back into Germany. -
Battle of Okinawa
Allied forces invade Okinawa. The Battle of Okinawa was the biggest of the Pacific wars. This war includes 287,000 U.S troops and 130,000 Japanese soldiers. During this was 1/3 of Okinawas populations died. -

Soviets invade Berlin, the capital of Germany, in hopes of getting Germany to surrender. -

Leader of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler and his wife Eva Braun kill themselves in a bunker. This marks the end of Nazi Germany. -
Unconditional surrender of Germany
After their capital was taken by soviets and nearly running out of resources Nazi Germany signed an unconditional surrender at the allies headquarters in Riems. -
V-E (Victory in Europe) Day
This day celebrates the uncoditional surrender of Nazi Germany and its acceptance by the Allied powers. -
Hiroshima bombing
The United States dropped the first atomic bomb in Hiroshima killing tens of thousands of civilians in attempts to get the Japanes to surrender. -
Nagasaki bombing
Three days after the United States bombed Hiroshima they dropped another bomb on Nagasaki killing another 70,000 people. -
Japan unconditionally surrenders
Japan gives in to the demands of the United States and signs an unconditional surrender ending World War II completely.
