Adolf Hitler came to power on August 9, 1934. He was elected as president of Germany and it gave him the power to dictate and rule. It was important because he was elected for president and he ruled Germany. -
Invasion of Poland
Nazi Germany invaded Poland and The Soviet Union invaded Poland and the Baltic nations as well. France and Great Britain declared war on Germany. This event was important because it was the begining og World War II. -
Germany Invades France
Germany captured Paris, andwas occupying it in May of 1940. This is important because Germany invaded France and Germany's weapons completely ran over France's weaponss and it seemed like they easily dominated France. -
Bombing of London
The Battle of Britain began. Nazi Germany bombed London, people slept in subways underground at night time to avoid being killed if there house was bombed, This was important because London didn't fight back but they didn't give up. -
Invasion of Soviet Union
The Soviet Union wins against the Germans at Stalingdad. This marked the turning point of the war in Eastern Europe. This was important because Soviet Union defeated Germany and Germany was one of the main problem countries. -
U.S. Joins War
The U.S. joined the war after staying somewhat neutral because Japan bombed the Pearl Harbor naval base in Hawaii. The bombing led us to direct involvement in the war. This was important because it was the beginning of the United States joining the war. -
Pearl Harobor Bombing
Japan put together a sneak attack and bombed Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. They torepedoed them and dropped bombs on the harbor. Germany declared war on the USA and America declared war on Japan and Germany. This event is important because it was the start of the war for the USA. -
Battle of Midway
The USA won the battle against Japan, it was the turning point in the war in the Pacific giving the United States an advantage over Japan. This was important because Japan was also a big problem just like Germany and we defeated them in the Battle of Midway. -
D-Day
American Allied troops went to France and it was the turning point of the war in Western Europe. United States began to liberate Western Europe. This was important because this was the first time that they went to get France. -
Atomic Bombs
The U.S dropped bombs on Japenese cities; Hiroshima and Nagasaki. These bombs forced Japan to surrender the war. This was very important because it was the end of the war and the United States one!
