    After the non aggression act with Stlalin, the two rulers also made a plan. Their plan was to invade Poland. Western Poland for Gernany and Eastern Poland for Russia. One day in 1939, Germany sent in fast moving artillery while a massive amount of men came behind them. The war was called the lighting war because Hitler sent in fast moving trucks and a overwhelmed Poland with their massive army. France and Britain declared war on Germany because they promised to protect Poland's independence.

    Just before 8 a.m. on December 7, 1941, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor.     When America and Britain were done liberating Northern Africa and Italy, they attacked Germany from the Western Front. Now Germany had to fight on two fronts. On the West against America and Britain and on the East Russia. Hitler knew he was in trouble and decided to take his army and artillery and put it all in the Western Front. This last attempt for Hitler was called the Battle of the Bulge. This attempt failed and Germany had no choice but to surrender

    The U.S. warned Japan, but when Japan didn't answer, an American B-29 bomber dropped the world’s first deployed atomic bomb over the Japanese city of Hiroshima. The explosion wiped out 90 percent of the city and immediately killed 80,000 people; tens of thousands more would later die of radiation exposure. Three days later, a second B-29 dropped another A-bomb on Nagasaki, killing an estimated 40,000 people. Japan’s Emperor Hirohito announced his country’s unconditional surrender in World War II
