Roosevelt reelected, the first time a president has been elected for three terms. -

U.S. cracks Japanese code and learns that China is Japan's target. -
Lend-Lease
Lend-Lease Program proposed by Roosevelt to Congress and Congress approves. It would lend arms to Great Britan and Great Britian would pay us back after the wary. -
Nonagression Pact Broken
Germany breaks the Nonagression Pact with the Soviet Union. Two days later the U.S. extends the lend-lease program to theSoviet Union. -
Atlantic Charter
FDR and Winston Churchill write the Atlantic Charter on a British Battleship. -

The U.S. tells Japan to stop any agression against other countries or else! -
Pearl Harbor Attack
The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor during the early Sunday morning. This attack brought the United States into the war. They attacked us to impress Hitler, but their plan did not work. He was only angry that they 'woke a sleeping giant.' -
