Wolff Enlists
Wolff enlisted with the Eisenbahn Railway Regiment Number 4 in Schoesberg in 1912 while aged 17. Wolff would later become one of Imperial Germany's highest scoring fighter aces during WWI. Wolff Transfered to the Air Service in July.

A German submarine sinks the passenger liner Lusitania. The ship carries 1,198 people, 128 of them Americans. The Lusitania was a British ocean liner and was in route from New York to Liverpool, England.

Battle of Verdun
The Battle of Verdun was fought from Feburary 21st until December 18, 1916. The Western Front between the German and French armies, on hills north of Verdun-sur-Meuse in north-eastern France. Wolff achieved the first of his 33 victories

Wolff Injured
Wolf was shot on the hand during a fight with no fewer than 11 British Sopwith Triplanes. On July 11th Wolff was removed from the active service and was brought back 2 months later. Fighting Ends
On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month Germany signs the armistice at Compiegne, France. Fighting ends. (i.e. 11 a.m. on November 11). At home many people celebrated the end of the war but at the front there wasn't anything to celebrate. The soldiers thought the armistice was just a short measure and the war would go on. Treaty Of Versailles
The Treaty was a settlement between Germany and the Allied Powers that officially ended World War I. many believe the Versailles Treaty laid the groundwork for the eventual rise of Nazis in Germany and the eruption of World War II.
