Assasination of Franz Ferdinand of Austria
Franz Ferdinand and his wife were assasinated while on their visit to Sarajevo. This caused Austria-Hungary to give Serbia an ultimatum. It was either the person who killed Franz show themself and be punished, or war shall be declared. -
Austria-Hungary Declares War Against Serbia
Because Austria-Hungary declared war against Serbia, Russia soon got involved since Serbia and Russia had a treaty and therefore was bounded to help Serbia. Germany was allies with Austria-Hungary so Germany warned Russia to back off. -
Germany Declares War On Russia
Because Germany is allies with Austria-Hungary, and Serbia is allies with Russia, Germany warned Russia to back off of Austria-Hungary and they didnt. So Germany declared war. -

Treaty Of Versailles Is Signed
The main points of the treaty was:
1) no more secret treaties
2) countries must seek to reduce their weapons and their armed forces
3) national self-determination should allow people of the same nationality to govern themselves and one nationality should not have the power to govern another
4) all countries should belong to the League of Nations. -
The Great Depression Begins
Unemployment was going around the whole globe. People were losing jobs left and right. Self interests destroyed cooperations with ideal of league of nations. -
Holocaust Begins
The collapse of the German Industry cause Adolf Hitler to rise up in power. -
World War 2 Begins
Because Germany and its allies had lost WW1, they were forced to pay all te reperations. Germany was also split into other countries. Because the Germans had to pay all the reparations and had to split their country, their money was pretty much worthless. This made the Germans angry at the peace treaty.
