    The first large scaled gas weapon was used in ww1. Primarily used to demobilize, injure, and even kill soldiers. They used tear gas, mustard gas, even chlorine that could cause long-term problems.

    The heir of the throne to Austria-Hungary. His assassination was strong reason on why the war started. It also lead to the declaration of war on Serbia.

    One of the prime reasons why the war went into affect. His assassination sparked many affects, Austria-Hungary declaring Serbia. This also lead to Europeans joining thanks to many alliances.

    The first battle between the British and German forces during a different campaign. The British were victorious. It gave them the advantage and were able to send out more attacks against the Germans.

    It was an attempt to take control to take over Turkish straits. It would make the Suez Canal much safer, and able to move supplies to Russia. Which they failed, and the campaign was abandoned.

    The Lusitania was a luxury boat on it's way to Liverpool when attacked by a German U-Boat. Over 120 Americans were killed in this attack. Caused heavy outrage within the Americans, and was a large portion of why America joined in the war.

    The starting of tanks was the result of a stalemate. It was the startling amounts of deaths throughout the war. The research of tanks took place in France.

    A rather gruesome 10-month conflict between French and German armies. It resulted in a startling amount of casualties. There were over 700,000 casualties, showing the reality of trench warfare.

    Was the emperor of Austria and the king of Hungary. When he annexed Bosnia, it spiraled into the Bosnian crisis. He was also the president of the German confederation.

    WWI was the first major conflict involving aircraft. They were just coming into military use within the war. Also used for spying, then turned into fighters and bombers

    They heavily impacted ww1, firing rapidly across the battlefield. They made what they called 'no man's land' a dangerous zone. They were extremely helpful within defense, mowing down anything within its wake.

    A Russia revolutionist and politician, and the head of gov't. of Soviet Russia and the Union. He lead the Oct. Revolution, which declared the first socialist state. His gov't won the Russian Civil War and made a communist gov.

    The prime minister of France. Also played a heavy role in politics within France during the war. He demanded a total victory over Germany after countless amounts of French soldiers were killed.
  • David Lloyd George

    David Lloyd George
    Prime minister of the UK. Was well known for leading the UK in the first world war. Also had a role in the Paris peace conference.
