The Age of the Enlightenment
The Age of the Enlightenment occured in the late 17th century. It was the age when the people started questioning the goverment they were living in and rebeling to that goverment in a way of showing how everything can be rational if we as people want to. Scientific studies were also done in this age. Famous thinkers such as Renee Descartes and John Locke, contributed to this age. The word of The Age of the Enlightenment is rationalism. -
The Industrial Revolution
Started in Great Britain, it was a period of time were countries started to develop new ways to make things and improve them. The train was inveted in order to move products from one place to another. Child labor was happening because the people who owned factories were offering jobs, and kids took them for various reasons (they treated children really bad, they made them work for days without a break, etc.) It improved the world we live in but also made a lor of people suffer. -
The French Revolution
Influenced by the ideas of The Age of the Enlightenment, France was ready to start a revolution for all the injustice that was happening in class. They wanted to get rid of the clases that divided France in three parts: The Clergy (The ones with the most power.), The Nobles (Almost as important as The Clergy.), and the common people (which they had no rights at all.). -
The Reign of Terror
The Reign of Terror started soon after The French Revolution. It was a time of massive violence directed by Roberspierre. A lot of people were killed in the guillotine including the King Louis the XVI. -
Scramble for Africa
European countries were looking for places to conquer and that's were the Scrambel for Africa started. In this period of time, european countries wanted to conquer the countries in Africa so that they could have more people work for them and have those resources that are not obtainable in their countries in order to make their countries grow economically. This was really unfair for African people because european countries took them as slaves. -
World War I
Before World War I, all of a sudden, countries started making allies with each other. They wanted to make sure if a war was bound to happen, they would have someone who would defend their back, Militarism stared going on to compete with other countries to see which one had the best military program. All of this were steps the wolrd was taking towards The Fisrt World War. But what really triggered the first World War I wasassasination of Franz Ferdinand. -
The Treaty of Versailles
The end of World War I. The Treaty of Versailles is the treaty which all countries involved in the war came to decide the fate of the countries who initiated the war. The countries decided that Germany was guilt for everything and made him pay for it. This triggered future problems.
